Your Background/Experience
- >5 years (or equivalent) experience in iSeries consultative role
- IBM iSeries technical architect with varied experience of management roles and challenges
- Advanced OS400 knowledge
- WebSphere knowledge
You Report to:
Managed Service Manager
Your Job Purpose
- Effective contribution to the strategy, management and direction of MDS Managed Service.
- Efficient management and consultancy of iSeries architecture within the remit of ITIL best practices ensuring best possible service delivery and support to customers.
- Replication of Managed Service strategies globally
- Develop business opportunity for the company wherever possible
Your Company Training (if required)
Company Induction
Your Responsibilities:
- Significant Exposure to As400 and System i Hardware technologies, including design, build, implementation and troubleshooting
- Development of direct reports. Succession planning, identification of training needs and utilisation of performance management techniques to meet objectives.
- Assist in Pre Sales Support where required.
- Represent the company wherever necessary (customer meetings, functions etc)
- Availability management and monitoring
- Security I-series - System security policy and implementation
- Capacity Planning and maximising system performance
- Configuration Management of MDS Managed Service iSeries
- 3rd Party software selection and installation plus operational hand-over / Second line Support
- iSeries System DR and High Availability planning
- Capacity Planning and maximising system performance
- Maintenance of backup schedules and offsite media storage.
- Monitoring of all AS/400 jobs and production environments
Location
Head office, Warrington
Salary Range:
Contract rate: £25 - £30 per hour dependant upon experience, with a view to a permanent position after 6 months
